Groups are so much more than just a way of keeping your layers tidy in Photoshop.
When you group layers together they now ACT TOGETHER – so if you group two images together they now move together are resized together with the transform tool and so on…
You could apply an adjustment layer to the group and clip it so all the layers in the group are affected – nice and simple and easy workflow…
When you’ve created multiple layers of texture, colour or painting – if you GROUP the layers together you can then use a pass through mask to reveal some of the subject you might not want affected – the eyes of a human or animal subject for example…. It’s something I use a lot when doing arty edits… here’s a short video on how it works…
