Learn to Create Impressionist Style Images With ICM, Multiple Exposure and a Deep Sense of Connection to Nature
How to “see” and create with all your senses to supercharge your photographic creativity…
And connect deeply with the world around you…
Using Intentional camera movement, multiple exposure and more…
Four-part workshop online 4 x 2 hour sessions
plus pre-recorded material (7 hours approximately)
Imagine not just looking at the world, but tasting the air, feeling the hush of shadows, hearing colour hum through the landscape. This is photography not as escape, but as a way of entering the textures, voices, and currents of your environment. By the end, you may find yourself photographing not from the eye alone, but from the soles of your feet, the rhythm of your breath, and the pulse of the place around you.
With just four participants (and me) in the group, this is a shared journey with space for deep listening and a community feel.
With four sessions over eight weeks, you’ll have time to digest and explore the material between meetings. When we meet, we’ll explore how to connect more deeply with your environment and discover innovative ways to express your experiences in your photography.
Whether you live in the city, deep in the woods, or by the ocean — the world is rich with sensory experiences and this course is about reigniting full multi-sensory noticing to unlock new ways of seeing and expand your photographic creativity.
This course is for you if:
- you want to develop creative camera and post production skills — we will be exploring techniques including intentional camera movement, multiple exposure and editing techniques.
- you want to move beyond technical know-how into photography that feels alive and embodied.
- you sense there’s more to image-making than “taking pictures” and you’re curious about what that could be.
- you long to deepen your connection with the places and moments you photograph — whether in a city street, a forest, or your own back garden.
- you’re open to slowing down, experimenting, and letting the world shape the way you see.
- you’re drawn to creativity as a dialogue — between you, your camera, and the world around you.
Drawing on my experience in the multi-sensory connection between humans, the environment, and other animals…
I call this multi-sensory photography, using all our senses to experience, explore and express… and this is where I love to bring the connection of photography “with” the world to create images that convey sensory perception and engagement.
Included:
- Four live sessions of approximately 2 hours each including a presentation/teaching session and group discussion.
- Access to four x 1 hour plus webinars and my 5 hour ICM Masterclass course for the duration of this 8 week programme. This gives you access to my core ICM and Multiple Exposure skills. There is no need to watch all of this before the workshop begins, it is there to support you and answer a lot of questions.
- A private Facebook group to share images and discuss between sessions where I will be active and available each week to answer questions.
- The live sessions recorded and accessible during and after this programme.
Over the four lives sessions we’ll cover:
As you will have access to ICM and multiple exposure pre-recorded tutorials through pre-recorded sessions, our live sessions will focus on how to use those techniques in the world as well as exploring different ways of using the core techniques in response to your subject. I will of course support you and answer questions about techniques during these sessions too!
- Multi-sensory observation and expression – how to bring all your senses into your photography. Observing and expressing in camera and in post-production.
- Collaborating with the environment – using what the world offers as part of your image making. Exploring how to use nature’s offerings, the weather and movement, light and dark to make creative choices and bring the world to life in your images.
- Turning inwards – exploring how to bring emotion into our images to express how you feel about a place and a moment. And, to use what you see and feel in the world to express how you feel inside.
- Colour as a lived phenomenon – how we perceive colour, how to work with it in camera and in post-processing, and how it can bring your images to life for the viewer.
- Embodied multiple exposures – exploring how multiple exposures can shape, reveal and express the world with intensity.
- Bringing it all together – integrating all we’ve explored to intuitively compose images that reflect your unique perception and engagement with the world.
By the end of our time together, your photography will feel like a conversation between you, the camera and the world.
