How Does the Course Work…
The course is a mixture of videos (5 hours) and written materials presented on a specialised learning platform.
The weeks unlock one at a time giving you plenty of time to digest and practice your skills. After week two you’ll submit assignments for personal feedback where I’ll provide personal video feedback on your work to enhance and support your learning.
This is a SAFE learning space that encouraging and nurturing skills and creativity.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much Photoshop knowledge do I need?
You’ll need to know how to open Photoshop, bring files in, save and export and understand how to use layers and layer masks. I assume you’re a relative beginner with a basic knowledge. The early edits do assume you need prompting and support even regarding layers and layers masks…
I’m a beginner, I’ve never used photoshop before what should I do?
No problem. I’ve got a free course I’ll bundle in with this course on purchase. Please email me before buying so I can provide you with appropriate support.
Do I have one to one with you in this course?
At the end of the second week, you will submit your first edit assignment to me. Part of your assignment is to send me your reflections and thoughts so I can feedback to you meaningfully to develop your creative skills. Your feedback will be specifically for your work and in the format of a recorded video. You will receive an email link from me to the video when it’s ready.
Does the course expire when I get to the end of it?
No. You will have access beyond the end of the five weeks. I am not going to say ‘lifetime’ because that’s a bit vague. My intention is to keep this course open to you for the foreseeable future, there is no plan to remove it or withdraw it from students. However, I withhold the right however to remove access to anyone breaching copyright or for educators using my material to teach others.
Does that mean I can’t study with you if I’m an educator?
Not at all. I would love to have you on the course but please reach out to me first before enrolling.
Can I have a live one to one with you on Zoom or Teams?
I’ve one to one tuition is available at a 15% discount from my normal fees for students enrolled on this course. Please email me to book your session.
However, I would suggest that if you are on this course you wait until the end because so much is covered in the course material you may end up duplicating tutorials if you ask me to cover something one to one that is later covered in the course…
But of course, you are welcome to contact me any time to book a live one-hour tutorial. Current rate £50 an hour. Your price as a student of this course £42.50.
Are you an artist because I’m not arty and I’m not sure I can do this?
NO!
I’m not an artist, or rather I wasn’t! I was a photoshop user way back at the start carrying out temp assignments then for design and desktop publishing in London when my boss couldn’t find anyone else to do them. Photography then became my art and love when I was seriously ill, and it’s grown from there.

Do you teach the arty side or just the technical?
This course is way more than ‘just’ learning or developing photoshop skills…
Photoshop is just the paintbrush as is your camera… the rest is art and art is you, expressing yourself.
I share thoughts on how to create, not just use Photoshop.
I’ve studied extensively from art history to colour psychology – I learn every single day… it’s a beautiful never-ending process so I’ll always have something fresh and new to share…
Do you offer refunds?
As the content is digital, there is no obligation to refund because as soon as you’ve opened the content you have received it.
However, I want you to be satisfied and happy with your product and support. If you decide this isn’t for you before the end of week one. Please contact me by email amanda@thephotographicartisan.com and I will cancel your course and refund you in full.

That will take you to a payment page… payments are managed by SureCart and Stripe so your information is securely handled and not stored on my website…
Notice when you paying you are required to set a password. This is for your login to the course and nothing to do with your payment…
Once complete the system will automatically take you to a Thank you screen with a button to link you to the first page of the course where you’ll find my welcome video to get you started… Watch that first I want to welcome you to the course and let you know what we’ll be getting up to and where to find what…
You will also receive and email confirming your purchase and with a link to your customer dashboard for the course…

Please notice that on full screen you will need to scroll down the screen a bit to find your course which will have the blue enrolled label on it and a button on the bottom of the panel that says continue study – this is your link back to the course so please don’t delete your email…
I recommend you also bookmark the first page you’ll go to on completion of payment and you’ll be able to use that too as a way of returning to your course materials….
